It's my passion...
My formal training began at the Butler Institute in Youngstown Ohio under the direction of Clyde Singer. I graduated from Ohio University with a BFA majoring in painting and Fine Arts History. My summers during that time were spent on Cape Cod supporting myself by drawing children’s portraits in Hyannis. Later I was very fortunate to study at the Art Students League under John Howard Sanden.
Although I’ve done many black and white drawings and oil paintings, my medium of choice is pastel, which I believe best suits my style. I have been commissioned for numerous portraits and been featured in a number of juried shows. The challenge of every portrait is to capture the unique personality of the subject and to create a beautiful painting.
"I have always been interested in faces and capturing their likeness for as long as I can remember. This interest continues to this day and will always be the main focus of my art.”
